Precision Metal Stamping services & Capabilities

Progressive Die Stamping-Multiple stamping operations can be integrated into progressive dies for efficient, repeatable production of complex parts.

Deep drawing-Deep drawing forms sheet metal into deeper or three-dimensional shapes while maintaining controlled dimensions.

Compound Die Stamping-Compound dies combine multiple cutting operations within a single press stroke for efficient production of precision components.

Precision Stamping-Precision stamping provides controlled and repeatable production for components with demanding dimensional requirements.

Techsun provides precision metal stamping for OEM and industrial customers requiring consistent dimensions, reliable tooling, and repeatable production. Our capabilities include progressive die stamping, deep drawing, compound die stamping, and precision forming for stainless steel, aluminum, steel, and other commonly used metals.

Precision Stamping Dies & Tooling

Progressive Dies   for mass production or complex parts requiring multiple processes, progressive dies can integrate blanking, punching, bending, forming, and other processes into a continuous production cycle.

Deep-Drawing Dies  Deep drawing is used to manufacture deep, hollow metal components with complex geometries, such as parabolic antenna components, fuel tanks, and other formed enclosures. Using dedicated deep-drawing dies and hydraulic presses, we can achieve controlled material flow and consistent forming quality across multiple drawing stages.

Compound Dies   Depending on the part geometry and production requirements, multiple operations can be integrated into a single die or stamping station, helping reduce secondary operations and improve production efficiency.

Die Design Our tooling team includes die designers with more than 15 years of experience, supported by senior toolmaker with up to 30 years of experience in die design and fabrication.

CAE Simulation  Our engineers use CAE simulation to evaluate metal forming behavior and optimize tooling before fabrication. The analysis helps predict potential issues such as tearing, wrinkling, material thinning, dimensional variation, and springback, allowing forming conditions and die geometry to be optimized before physical trials. This reduces tooling modifications, shortens development cycles, and improves overall production readiness.

Springback Compensation After confirming the material properties, including yield strength, our engineers use CAE simulation software to analyze the forming process and predict springback behavior. Based on the simulation results, an initial springback compensation value is established and iteratively optimized.

The compensated die geometry is then incorporated into the simulation model, and the forming process is recalculated to verify dimensional accuracy against the specified tolerance requirements. Once the simulation results meet the target, the tooling is manufactured and a first article is produced for full dimensional inspection. The measured results are compared with the drawing requirements to validate the tooling and forming process before mass production.

Materials for Precision Metal Stamping

Techsun works with a wide range of metals for precision stamping, including stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel, copper, brass, and other commonly used alloys. Material selection is evaluated according to part geometry, forming requirements, mechanical properties, surface requirements, and production volume.:

  1. Steel: Carbon steel SPCC, SPEC, 1010, 1018, manganese steel, pickled sheet, etc., suitable for stamping.
  2. Stainless steel: Stainless Steel: 200-series and 300-series grades such as 201, 301, 304, and 316/316L, as well as selected 400-series grades such as 410 and 430.
  3. Aluminum: Commonly used stamping aluminum includes 5052, 5053, 6061, 1050/1060/1100, etc., most commonly used in home appliances, garden tools, radiators, containers, kitchenware, and medical devices.
  4. Copper: Copper commonly used for terminals and heat dissipation stamping includes brass, bronze, phosphor bronze, and red copper.

Metal Stamping Tolerances

Precision stamping requires consistent control of tooling, material behavior, forming parameters, and dimensional variation. Techsun uses controlled tooling processes and inspection procedures to maintain dimensional consistency according to customer drawings and specifications.

  1. Dimensional Accuracy Accurate tooling, controlled die clearance, stable forming conditions, and consistent material properties are essential for achieving repeatable dimensional accuracy.
  2. Tight Tolerances Our tooling and process development are designed around the dimensional requirements specified in customer drawings. Tolerance capability depends on part geometry, material, thickness, tooling design, and production volume.
  3. Repeatability Precision stamping requires consistent dimensional performance throughout the production run, not only during initial sampling.
  4. Interchangeability Proper tooling design, process control, and inspection help ensure consistent part dimensions and reliable interchangeability during assembly.

Complex Metal Forming

Our precision stamping processes can combine blanking, punching, forming, bending, flanging, deep drawing, trimming, and other operations according to part geometry and production requirements.

  1. Flanging Flanging is a stamping method that turns the outer edge of a product along a certain curve into a vertical edge.
  2. Embossing  Embossing refers to a process of creating raised areas on the surface of a metal product using a die.
  3. Bending Bending is a processing method that uses die or other tools to bend Z-shaped, C-shaped, or O-shaped contours into parts with a certain angle or shape; it is one of the basic processes in stamping.

Precision Metal Stamping Quality Control

  1. Incoming Material Inspection Every raw material delivered by the supplier is inspected by quality control personnel before being put into storage.
  2. First Article Inspection After each die setup, the first part produced is inspected against the approved drawing and quality requirements. A First Article Inspection (FAI) report is completed and retained for traceability and production records.
  3. In-Process Inspection Periodic In-Process Quality Control (IPQC) inspections are conducted throughout production to monitor dimensional and process stability, identify quality deviations, and address abnormalities promptly. This helps ensure consistent part quality throughout the production run.
  4. Final Inspection At the end of each production run, final inspection includes verification of the last piece to confirm that dimensions and quality remain within the specified requirements. This helps identify potential quality changes caused by die wear or process variation before the production lot is released.
  5. Material Traceability Traceability is ensured for each batch of steel coils, aluminum coils, and other sheet metal from batch to finished stamped parts.

Stamping DFM & Engineering Support

Our engineering team reviews part geometry, material selection, tolerances, forming requirements, and tooling considerations before production to identify potential manufacturing risks and optimize the stamping process.

This includes DFM analysis, process sequencing, die design, material utilization, forming simulation where appropriate, prototype validation, and process parameter optimization.

Early engineering analysis can identify potential problems before tooling fabrication, helping reduce development time, tooling modifications, scrap, and production risk.

From Prototype to High-Volume Production

Techsun supports precision stamping projects from prototype development and tooling validation to low-volume and high-volume production. Production planning, tooling, material sourcing, process control, and inspection are coordinated to support consistent part quality throughout production.

Continuous Improvement and Customer Support

At Techsun, we combine precision tooling, process engineering, quality management, and production expertise to support customers from prototyping through volume production. Our focus is on consistent quality, production stability, delivery reliability, and long-term supply performance.
